"Dan and have been together for 12 years this July, we met at school in 2007 when Dan transferred over for sixth form. We got engaged on the 7th September 2017 whilst on a Norwegian cruise with my mum and her partner."
"This was our first time on a cruise and we weren't aware that suitcases are loaded onto the ship and delivered by porters to your cabin later in the day. Mum and I couldn't understand why Dan was so worried about being separated from his case, of course we later found out this was because my engagement ring was inside!"
"On the 7th September, our cruise ship docked in Flam and we boarded the famous Flamsbana train up the mountain, stopping at Kjosfossen Waterfall on the way. Unbeknown to me, Dan planned to propose to me here and he thought we would be stopping for a reasonable amount of time, but as the train came to a stop they announced that we would only have a few minutes to disembark."
"I remember Dan looking a little panicked about this at the time, but I just assumed he wanted more time to take photos! With this in mind I quickly jumped off the train to see the waterfall, with Dan chasing after me shouting "slow down, I've only got a few minutes!" When I turned around he was down on one knee."
"We got married at Oakwell Hall on the 20th July 2019. We chose this venue as I have happy memories of visiting here as a child with my Dad and friends, and we wanted to find ways of including my Dad in our wedding day as he sadly passed away in 2004."
"As we got engaged in Norway, we opted for a Scandi style theme. We named our tables after the places we visited on our cruise and I found an antique map of Norway to use as the background for our seating plan. Our florist and venue stylist Jane from Woo B Woo really brought the rest of our Pinterest wedding to life with green foliage, a waterfall inspired backdrop and foliage balloons."
"The day itself was absolutely perfect, and without a doubt the best day of our lives! The weather even held out for us, which we were particularly happy about as we'd hired hay bales for outside the barn and outdoor games for our guests"
"Overall our day went without a hitch, apart from when the registrar called us by the wrong names! To be fair to her, my first name is Charlotte but I have only ever been known as Grace which is my middle name, however I did obviously have to use Charlotte on our wedding day. This caused some confusion from the start, particularly with Dan's family who weren't aware of this."
"Then at the end of the ceremony, the registrar asked our guests to stand and put their hands together for Charlotte and Anthony... which is Dan's middle name! By this point I think our guests were well and truly confused, but we all found it funny and it resulted in some great candid photos!"
"Our venue requested that we only use biodegradable confetti, so we researched our options and chose Adamapple as you offered the widest variety of confetti and we loved that we could order our confetti packets ready made. One less thing to worry about!"
Grace and Dan chose our Slowfall Vintage Mix Confetti which was available last year as part of our Mixed For You range.
You can now order this mix via our Confetti Bar.
To make just over 1 litre (which is enough to serve around 20 guests) you will need to follow the recipe below:
1 Highball of Ivory Sundried Rose
1 Highball of Pink Sundried Rose
1 Double Shot of Blue Delphinium
Or, another option is to choose our Mixed For You 'Cherish' and add 1 Double Shot of Blue Delphinium per litre.
Grace and Dan also chose to package their confetti in our biodegradable frosted packets with white personalised stickers.
